About Us
FourthPoint was founded in 2005 and is owned by Peter Foley, CFP®. Out of approximately 59,000 Certified Financial Planners® in the USA, Peter is one of the less than 11 percent of those who also have earned the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter credentials.
With over 33 years of financial industry experience, Peter is a former management consultant and successful technology entrepreneur. His first financial services industry position was as an award-winning agent for a major life insurer. After many years as a national sales leader focused on providing specialized disability insurance for surgeons, he founded a highly successful employee benefits and insurance brokerage/consulting firm before shifting his focus to investments in the late 1990s.
After earning his CFP® designation, Peter joined Advest. When that 100 year-old company was sold to Merrill Lynch, he elected to open his own Registered Investment Advisory firm. Peter and his staff have spotless regulatory and compliance records and a passion for educating clients about fiduciary-based investing. See Peter's resume for more information.
Peter is a graduate of Georgetown University, studied information systems at the George Washington University Graduate School of Business, and is a former President of the Georgetown Alumni Club of Boston and the Georgetown Rowing Alumni Association.
